AAP wins the race in naming Lok Sabha candidates

The Aam Aadmi Party may fare differently when the results of the General Elections 2014 are declared on May 16, but it certainly has moved ahead in the race to declare Lok Sabha candidates.

New Delhi: The Aam Aadmi Party may fare differently when the results of the General Elections 2014 are declared on May 16, but it certainly has moved ahead in the race to declare Lok Sabha candidates.

As of yesterday, the Arvind Kejriwal-led AAP has announced the names of 426 candidates. In contrast, national parties like the Congress and the BJP have declared 414 and 415 candidates respectively.
Mulayam Singh`s Samajwadi Party has nominated 160 candidates so far.

With less than a week to go for the first phase of polls, the newbie has certainly managed to put up a credible face by naming the candidates well in time.
Party chief Arvind Kejriwal has been campaigning for the party candidates but has yet to visit states like Bihar, Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, Uttarakhand, Goa, and the Northeast.

The party is focussing on states like Delhi, Haryana and Maharashtra where it hopes to win the maximum seats.
