`Arvind Kejriwal may be attacked in Varanasi`s BJP bastions`
Aam Aadmi Party leader Arvind Kejriwal, who is contesting from the Varanasi Lok Sabha constituency, can be attacked in areas populated by supporters of the Bharatiya Janata Party and its prime ministerial candidate Narendra Modi.

Varanasi: Aam Aadmi Party leader Arvind Kejriwal, who is contesting from the Varanasi Lok Sabha constituency, can be attacked in areas populated by supporters of the Bharatiya Janata Party and its prime ministerial candidate Narendra Modi.
In a confidential letter to Varanasi DM, the city`s Senior Superintendent of Police, Jogender Kumar, has reportedly said that Kejriwal is campaigning in the high-profile constituency without any security and can be attacked.
Author and journalist Madhu Kishwar, whose absolute support to Modi is very well known, meanwhile, said that Kejriwal may `organise an attack on self`.

Last month, the AAP had written to the Election Commission demanding deployment of central security forces and senior central observers in Varanasi to ensure Kejriwal`s Lok Sabha election campaign is not marred by violence.
The AAP wrote to the Election Commission following several attacks by goons and BJP activists.
"It appears there is a concerted attempt on the instructions and instigation of sections of the leadership of the BJP to encourage and abet these attacks," said the AAP letter to the EC.
It had also told the poll panel the party fears the attacks would escalate in the days to come, so the request for security.
The AAP leaders had also alleged that local police authorities are unable and unwilling to do anything to stop the attacks or identify and apprehend the masterminds behind these attacks.
Just a few days back, Modi had said he was hoping for a good fight in Varanasi where Kejriwal is contesting against him. The Congress has fielded Ajay Rai in Varanasi.
