Lucknow: Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) chief Arvind Kejriwal on Wednesday questioned Bharatiya Janata Party's decision of holding a 'dharna' outside Banaras Hindu University to protest against denial of permission to Narendra Modi for holding a rally and perform 'Ganga Aarti' in Varanasi.

Kejriwal, who is pitted against Modi from the Varanasi constituency expressed his views on his personal twitter account saying:

Further taking on the BJP, Kejriwal said the principle Opposition party has never held a protest for the residence of the holy city.

Modi was denied permission to hold rally by the district authorities in the holy city. The Gujarat Chief Minister has also not been granted permission for participating in 'Ganga Aarti' and hold a meeting with 150 prominent Varanasi citizens at a banquet hall in a hotel situated in the holy city.

BJP leaders Arun Jaitley, Amit Shah, Ananth Kumar and others leaders will sit on dharna tomorrow over denial of permission to Modi's rally.

Addressing a press conference in Varanasi, Jaitley accused the returning officer of being biased towards the BJP. Jailtley said, “The retuning officer is biased and he should immediately be sent back.”
