New Delhi: Congress on Tuesday categorically rejected exit poll predictions that BJP led NDA will be a clear winner in the General Elections and asked the national media not to jump to any conclusion before the final results are announced on May 16.

In his reaction to the exit poll surveys, Congress general secretary Digvijay Singh tweeted, “In country of 800 mn voters how can few lakh sample size surveys predict result?”

“Let`s wait for 16th May,” Singh further tweeted.

Meanwhile, senior BJP leader Arun Jaitley today a took jibe on Congressand asked the party to be prepared to sit in Opposition.
Jaitley`s colleague in BJP Shahnawaz Hussain also exuded confidence that his party will get absolute majority in the recently concluded general elections and form government on its own.

“Don`t think we will need more allies, but still as Narendra bhai said `sabka saath, sabka vikas`, we are ready to support from any party,” Hussain said.

Reaction from the two national parties came a day after almost all leading exit polls predicted that the BJP led National Democratic Alliance will achieve its best ever tally in the elections while the Congress-led United Progressive Alliance (UPA) will register its worst ever performance.
