EC orders repoll in 11 West Bengal booths on Tuesday

Election Commission ordered repoll at 11 booths in West Bengal, which went to the polls in the third phase on April 30, because of various electoral malpractices, state CEO Sunil Gupta said.

Kolkata: The Election Commission on Monday ordered repoll at 11 booths in West Bengal, which went to the polls in the third phase on April 30, because of various electoral malpractices, state CEO Sunil Gupta said.

"The repoll will be held tomorrow (May 13) from 7 AM to 6 PM in the respective booths," the CEO said.

In all these cases, the EC received a number of complaints, which were scrutinised before the repoll was ordered.

All these repolls will be held at Bhatar, Arambagh, Jamalpur, Ausgram, Mangalkot, Galsi and Birbhum under Burdwan East, Hooghly and Birbhum parliamentary constituencies.

At Galsi there will be repoll also in the Assembly by-elections, Gupta said.
