Giriraj Singh reprimanded by BJP for `Modi critics go to Pakistan` statement

Godda: After BJP leader Giriraj Singh on Saturday sparked a controversy by saying that the party`s prime ministerial candidate Narendra Modi baiters should go to Pakistan, his party distanced itself from the statement. According to reports, the Bihar leader has been told by BJP leader Rajnath Singh to refrain from making such comments that hurts party`s poll prospects and stoke any further row. Meanwhile, Congress today jumped on the chance to attack the BJP and slammed Giriraj`s comments saying they were inflammatory. The Congress party also said that the it will take the matter with the Election Commission and demanded that Singh be jailed. "EC must take cognizance of this and send Giriraj Singh to jail for his statement," Congress leader Meem Afzal. The Congress leader said that if those who won`t vote for Modi will be sent to Pakistan then they will have to send 90 percent people to the neighbouring country. Meanwhile, defiant Giriraj said that he stands by his statement and that it was not made statement after taking approval from the BJP. However, BJP leader Sushil Kumar Modi on Sunday disapproved of Giriraj Singh’s comments on Modi baiters, says BJP doesn`t approve of Giriraj`s irresponsible statement. Congress leader KC Mittal said that the language used by Singh is a threat to a particular community, will complain to EC, a conspiracy to divide nation. “They (BJP) don`t want India to be united, this is a serious warning for people of this country,” Mittal said. Also, RJD and JD(U) has filed complaints to Election Commission against the inflammatory comments which has sparked a row. Singh, while addressing the masses at Godda district, said that those who are trying to stop BJP`s prime ministerial candidate Modi will have no place in India after the results of the General Elections will be announced. He further added that such people can look for a place in Pakistan. Singh, who has been fielded by the BJP from Bihar`s Nawada Lok Sabha constituency, made these remarks in the presence of party`s another senior leader Nitin Gadkari. Singh had earlier resented to contest from Nawada and had desired to contest from Begusarai. However, after meeting party`s president Rajnath Singh he accepted to contest from Nawada. The outspoken BJP leader was earlier in news for tweeting that Modi will end political career of Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar. Reacting to his remarks on Kumar, JD(U) leader Ali Anwar had said that the BJP is fascist and it is their ideology.
