Varanasi: Aam Aadmi Party chief Arvind Kejriwal on Friday expressed disappointment over the Lok Sabha election results and said that his party will accept the people`s mandate.

Addressing the media, Kejriwal, who contested against Bharatiya Janata Party leader Narendra Modi from Varanasi constituency said that it`s a good sign that his party was leading in four seats in Punjab, however, he went on to say that Delhi results were disappointing as they had expected to perform well in the national capital.

The former Delhi chief minister congratulated Modi and his party for the emphatic performance in the Lok Sabha polls.

He said his party members would contemplate on the decisions.

Kejriwal further thanked the people of Varanasi for giving him love and affection.
The trends show that Modi has delivered a stunner. With the NDA set to win over 327 out of the 543 Lok Sabha seats, the Gujarat strongman has got the mandate he asked the nation for. The BJP itself is expected to win over 272 seats, leaving no scope for any error in delivering the change the teeming millions of the country are looking for.

The Congress, India`s oldest political party which had ruled India for a decade since 2004 at the head of the UPA, appeared set for an unprecedented rout.
Information from the Election Commission indicated a BJP sweep in northern, western and central India, and the party was also making gains in states where it has been traditionally weak.
