New Delhi: In a bid to woo approximately 1.6 million voters of the holy city, Aam Aadmi Party`s convenor Arvind Kejriwal on Monday left for Varanasi to campaign in his Lok Sabha constituency.
He is taking on Bharatiya Janata Party`s (BJP) prime ministerial candidate Narendra Modi here. He expressed confidence that Varanasi would defeat Modi and Amethi would defeat Congress vice president Rahul Gandhi.
Kejriwal posted on the micro-blogging site Twitter that his parents were going along with him in order to give their blessings. His wife will join him later.
Parents saath ja rahe hain. Kismat wala hun ki unka saath aur ashirwad lagatar saath hai. Patni kuch din baad ayengi.

Kejriwal boarded the Shiv Ganga Express along with his parents and some party supporters. He will reach the Hindu holy city Tuesday morning.
He is expected to camp in Varanasi, in Uttar Pradesh, until the constituency goes to polls May 12, the last day of the 10-phase Lok Sabha election.
Moreover, other senior AAP leaders Manish Sisodiya and Sanjay Singh have already reached in the city.
April 24 is the last date for filing nomination in Varanasi. The last date for withdrawal of nomination is April 28.
Besides Varanasi, the AAP chief will also visit Amethi to campaign for colleague Kumar Vishwas, who is pitted against Congress vice president Rahul Gandhi.
Varanasi amethi ke liye nikal gaya hun. Mahakranti ka agaaz karne. Varanasi modi ko haraegi, amethi rahul ko. Fir ek nai rajniti janm legi
