New Delhi: Senior Congress leader Kamal Nath said on Tuesday that they had not expected the kind of results that 2014 Lok Sabha polls had thrown up. At the same time he added that the party needed to sit together and introspect as to where they had gone wrong.

Talking exclusively to Zee News, Nath said that probably the Congress had failed to communicate to the people their policies and people-friendly schemes from which the middle class and the poor people had benefited.
Nath was talking from Chhindwara from where he has won the polls.

At the same he said that the Congress had also failed to convince the people regarding issues of corruption.

While the BJP-led NDA has won big in the polls getting a majority on its own, the Congress had been handed a drubbing ending up with its worst ever tally.

BJP`s PM candidate Narendra Modi led from the front, undertaking a humongous campaign and criss-crossing the entire country urging people to give him 60 months as against 60 years that they had given the Congress.
Asked to react on Modi, Kamal Nath said that in due course of time, people would understand the politics of the BJP and give a befitting reply.
