Lucknow: In a scathing attack on Mulayam Singh Yadav, BSP chief Mayawati said on Wednesday that Samajwadi Party supremo should immediately be sent to a mental hospital.
Addressing the press here she said. “He insulted me as a women, Mulayam has lost his mental balance,” adding, “He should immediately be sent to Agra mental hospital.”
She also said that the Election Commission should ban Mulayam from contesting polls.
Mayawati told reporters that her party members were very angry at the SP chief for denigrating her and wanted to take to the streets. “My party members are very angry with Mulayam for his statements against me in Faizabad. I advised them not to take to the streets and not take law in their own hands,” she said.
At the same time she maintained that the SP was agitated as BSP was poised to do well in the Lok Sabha polls in Uttar Pradesh.
Mayawati`s comments came in reaction to Mulayam`s remarks against her at a rally in Faizabad district on today.
"Mai use kunwari kahun, srimati kahun, ya behen kahun (should I term her (Mayawati) Miss, Mrs or sister," Yadav had said at the rally, PTI reported.
