Narendra Modi seeks Vajpayee`s blessings as Varanasi campaigning ends

Lok Sabha Polls 2014 — As the high-decibel campaign for the general election came to an end Saturday, Bharatiya Janata Party`s prime ministerial candidate Narendra Modi visited his ailing mentor Atal Bihari Vajpayee and sought his blessings.

New Delhi: As the high-decibel campaign for the general election came to an end Saturday, Bharatiya Janata Party`s prime ministerial candidate Narendra Modi visited his ailing mentor Atal Bihari Vajpayee and sought his blessings. The Gujarat CM took to Twitter after the culmination of his campaig blitzkrieg in Uttar Pradesh and wrote, “After addressing final campaign rally came to seek Atal ji`s blessings. Had met him when campaign started. Its always special to meet him.” He also asked the people of Uttar Pradesh to help his party bag all the Lok Sabha seats in the state. "Give BJP all seats from UP and give us the opportunity to take UP and India`s development journey to newer heights," Modi tweeted. Modi, who concluded his campaign with a rally in Ballia, tweeted, "UP has won me over! I have received tremendous affection from people of UP during the entire campaign. My gratitude to the people of UP." He asserted that the Samajwadi Party, Bahujan Samaj Party and the Congress cannot do any good for the people of Uttar Pradesh as "they are one and are immersed in corruption and vote bank politics".
