New Delhi: BJP`s prime ministerial candidate Narendra Modi will first go to Varanasi on May 17 before heading to Delhi to attend the parliamentary board meet, according to reports.

The Gujarat Chief Minister contested the Lok Sabha elections from the Varanasi constituency against Aam Aadmi Party`s Arvind Kejriwal and Congress` Ajay Rai. He may also hold a roadshow in the temple town, reports said.

With exit polls pointing at BJP`s victory in General Elections, Modi is set to become the Prime Minister of India.

Also, BJP president Rajnath Singh along with other senior leaders - Arun Jaitley and Nitin Gadkari - met Modi in Gandhinagar today to discuss party`s post-poll results strategy.

There is speculation that the meet was held to decide the roles of different leaders if the BJP forms the government at the Centre.
BJP leaders also discussed the possibility of seeking the support of some allies including the BJD, AIADMK and NCP.
The party has already made it clear that it is not averse to receiving the support from any party which even has a single MP and will welcome it if it supports the BJP agenda.
