More than 3.67 crore voters are set to cast votes in elections to 175 assembly seats and 25 Lok Sabha constituencies to be held on May 7 in Seemandhra.

Hyderabad: More than 3.67 crore voters are set to cast votes in elections to 175 assembly seats and 25 Lok Sabha constituencies to be held on May 7 in Seemandhra.
Electioneering came to an end at 6 pm on Monday and all arrangements have being made for polling, Andhra Pradesh Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) Bhanwar Lal told reporters here on Monday.
Among 175 assembly segments, polling in eight Maoist- affected constituencies would be held from 7 am to 5 pm and from 7 am to 4 pm in two other constituencies.
In the 165 assembly seats, polling would take place from 7 am to 6 pm.
There are 333 contesting candidates for Lok Sabha constituencies and 2,241 nominees for assembly segments in the second phase (Seemandhra) of polling in Andhra Pradesh.
The number of polling stations is 40,708 and live web casting would be taken up at 23,184 polling stations.
A whopping Rs 134.02 crore of unaccounted for cash, 74.2 kg of gold, 933.19 kg of silver, 5.42 lakh litres of liquor has been seized so far all across Andhra Pradesh while enforcing the model code of conduct.
The CEO said that 272 companies of central security forces and 27,000 armed police would be deployed to ensure a free and peaceful polling.
At Maoist-hit tribal habitations at Paderu near Visakhapatnam, four choppers and an air ambulance would be kept ready for the Seemandhra phase of polling to attend to any emergencies, he said.
Polling has concluded in the Telangana region during the first phase of elections on April 30.
