Amethi: Retaliating against Priyanka Gandhi`s scathing attack on her in Amethi, BJP`s national secretary Smriti Irani on Saturday raised question on development work carried out by the Congress in the Lok Sabha constituency.
While taking potshots at Priyanka, Smriti that the former has little knowledge of Amethi. “My work can be compared to Rahul Gandhi`s work. Priyanka Gandhi has always been deficient of knowledge,” said Irani.
She further urged to compare her work with Rahul Gandhi and that she has evidences for the works she has carried out in 2.5 years.
“And why is she speaking when she isn`t contesting from Amethi? Where is their candidate? Absent again?” said Irani.
Irani, also said that the Congress seeks vote on the basis of emotions.
Attacking Irani, who is contesting from Amethi Lok Sabha constituency, Priyanka asked if she ever went back to Chandni Chowk after contesting election from there adding that “we never left the people of Amethi”.
While asking the people of Amethi to stand by the Gandhis, she invoked her father Rajiv Gandhi`s legacy and slammed the critics of Rahul saying that like Rajiv he also have political foresight. “When Rajiv ji brought in the computer revolution, he was criticised by the same people who criticise Rahul ji now,” she told people here, adding that people of Amethi loved Rajiv ji as much as me or Rahul loved him.
