Queue management system a great hit: DEO

The Election Queue Management System, a first of its kind initiative in the country during the April 30 Lok Sabha polls in Burdwan district, was a hit with 22,800 SMS queries from voters to know the queue status.

Burdwan District Magistrate and District Election Officer (DEO) Saumitra Mohan said that during the election to the two Lok Sabha seats - Burdwan-Durgapur and Burdwan Purba, 22,800 SMS queries from voters to know the number of people in queue at their polling booth, were received.
The web request from voters for the Election Queue Management System during the polls was around 44,000. Besides, 1800 mobile queries from voters were also received.

An SMS with the Electoral Photo Identity Card (EPIC) number sent to 9230085005 provided the information.

The information was also available on the website Burdwan.Nic.In and PSQueue Info.
