New Delhi: RSS leader Indresh Kumar on Friday came on record to admit that the Sangh volunteers were running the BJP campaign in Uttar Pradesh to ensure high voter turnout.
The Sangh leader also hit out at those calling RSS communal and said politicians who oppose the RSS or call it communal are "moorkh (fools)."
"As per the political and general view, Amit Shah and BJP team is supervising the campaigns for BJP. However, RSS had a view that if there is a hundred per cent voter turnout, then a healthy people`s rule can develop. They had welcomed all the volunteers so that they can sensitise the public for voting," he told CNN-IBN in an interview.
On a comparison between Narendra Modi and Atal Bihari Vajpayee, he said, both are the same, "One is like Mahatma and the other is like Subhash Chandra Bose."
