Kushinagar (UP): Amid the ongoing `war` between the Congress and the BJP over `neech rajniti`, Sonia Gandhi on Thursday slammed the latter`s PM nominee Narendra Modi and his low-level politics.

Addressing a rally here and targeting the Gujarat model of development, the Congress president said, “Politics can`t be done by showing a false picture of development.”
Unkii neech rajnitik soch aur batein unko aur desh ko shobha nahi detii (their low-level politics and thinking suits neither them nor the country),” Sonia said, taking a dig at Modi.

She warned the people against supporting the BJP, saying the opposition party “is threatening to stop pro-poor schemes if they come to power”.

“On one side you have people who are divisive, who don`t hear the oppressed. On the other side is secular Congress.”
She also hit out at Modi for insulting her husband Rajiv Gandhi.

“There have been several PMs, but what can one say about aspirant Narendra Modi who insulted the martyrdom of Rajiv Gandhi,” she said.
