Chennai: A day after it received a lot of hits on the day of polling in Tamil Nadu, the official website of the State Election Commission remained non-functional on Friday, amidst unconfirmed reports that it was hacked.
When contacted, Chief Electoral Officer Praveen Kumar told, "There are some problems with the systems. We have put all our data on another site. There was no data loss."

Asked whether the site was hacked, he said, "No, no. It is a hardware issue."

The site was a source of information to many when all 39 constituencies in the state went for polls yesterday.

Kumar also said the total poll percentage is yet to be calculated. The approximate figure stood at 72.8 per cent late last evening.
