UP government mulls deputing senior cop in poll-bound Varanasi

Uttar Pradesh government is contemplating deputing a senior police officer to the high profile parliamentary constituency Varanasi to monitor the situation there.

Lucknow: Uttar Pradesh government is contemplating deputing a senior police officer to the high profile parliamentary constituency Varanasi to monitor the situation there.
The government is thinking on sending a senior police official to Varanasi, DIG, Public Grievance Cell, A. Satish Ganesh told newspersons here in reply to a question on what steps would the government be taking to address the security concerns in Varanasi.
Unofficial sources said that the government might send ADG (Law and Order) Mukul Goyal to the temple town to monitor the situation there in the run up to the polling slated for May 12 next.
