Kohima: The ruling Naga People`s Front (NPF) supported by Democratic Alliance of Nagaland (DAN) won the lone Lok Sabha seat of Nagaland for the third consecutive time since 2004, but its victory margin decreased compared to 2009.
This time the NPF candidate was Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio. The NPF`s victory margin came down to 4,00,225 votes as against the 4,83,003 votes of 2009, a decrease of 82,778 votes.

Rio defeated Congress candidate K V Pusa in the parliamentary poll.
