Panaji: BJP on Sunday said the policemen-drug peddlers nexus case in Goa should be investigated by CBI, as such cases might damage India's image in international communities.

BJP's national secretary Arti Mehra on Sunday said the party president Nitin Gadkari has written a letter to Union Home Ministry asking them to investigate the drug nexus, which has been exposed in the state.

Goa is a peaceful place. Any such happenings here will reflect on the image of India as many foreigners visit it," Mehra said.

She said the letter has not named any politician involved in the nexus but the reports emerging from Goa makes it obvious. The BJP leader during her previous visit to the state had said that the party will lobby in Delhi to investigate the drug nexus.

Seven policemen were arrested in Goa after Israeli drug baron, Yaniv Benaim alias Atala's ex-girlfriend shot his confessions about his links to Goa police on a spy cam. The drug dealer had claimed that police attached to Anti Narcotic Cell were selling him the drugs to push the substance back into the market.
