Panaji: Goa Chief Minister Digamber Kamat
today said that he will discuss with the state Home Minister
about the allegations levelled by a drug dealer`s girlfriend
on alleged involvement of a senior politician`s son in a drug
scam.

"I am not able to comment off hand. I will discuss the
matter with Home Minister," Kamat told reporters on the
sidelines of a press conference called to announce
re-launching of film finance scheme.

An Israeli drug dealer Yaniv Benaim alias Atala`s
girlfriend Lucky Farmhouse in an e-mail interview had
claimed that son of a senior politician was frequenting her
boyfriend`s place.

Responding to the questions on inquiry, Kamat refused to
comment much on the issue.

The nexus between Goa police and drug peddlers was
exposed by Lucky through a video footage, shot on a spy cam
and posted on social networking website youtube.

Six policemen were suspended of which five, including
police Inspector Ashish Shirodkar, were arrested by crime
branch, which are investigating into the nexus.

Crime branch deputy superintendent of police Chandrakant
Salgaonkar, investigating the case, said that Atala during the
interrogation has not spoken anything about his association
with politician.

Salgaonkar said that they are in touch with Interpol to
get the statement of Lucky, which is very crucial in this
case.

He, however, admitted that the police have not formally
written to the Interpol. "We are in touch with Interpol
officials," he said refusing to divulge details.

Crime branch has said that their investigation into nexus
is on and if required, more police officers would be arrested
during the course of investigation.

"Till date, we have found involvement of only these six
policemen," Salgaonkar said.
