Goa constable suspended for visiting casino on duty

Constable Vikram Naik visited a casino located on the outskirts of the city, while he was on duty last Sunday.

Panaji: A constable attached to a police
station here was suspended after he skipped duty to visit a
casino and allegedly misbehaved with the staff.

Superintendent of Police (North) Arvind Gawas said a
departmental inquiry has been initiated against constable
Vikram Naik, who visited a casino located on the outskirts of
the city, while he was on duty last Sunday.

"Pending inquiry, he is suspended from his duties," Gawas
added.

As per the complaint filed by the casino management, Naik
misbehaved with the staff and also manhandled them.

"When police were called in, he misbehaved with the
personnel too," casino officials said.

Naik was later referred for medical examination, where he
was found to be in the inebriated state.
