Godinho demands CBI probe of Parrikar in IFFI case

legislative assembly Mauvin Godinho today demanded custodial
interrogation of leader of opposition Manohar Parrikar by CBI
in IFFI infrastructure creation case.
"I demand custodial interrogation of persons involved
in the scam. CBI should investigate where did Rs 60 crore to
Rs 70 crore siphoned during creation of International Film
Festival of India infrastructure went," Godinho told
The Deputy Speaker said that Parrikar was single
handedly taking all the decisions during his tenure as chief
minister and hence was solely responsible for the scam.
Godinho had filed a case of financial misappropriation
against Parrikar, which is currently being investigated by
anti corruption branch of CBI.
Godinho refused to hold entire core committee of then
state government responsible for the decisions taken in the
run up for the first edition of IFFI in 2004.
"It was a one-man government which was taking all the
decisions," he said.
When asked whether current Chief Minister Digamber
Kamat who was then part of core committee should also be
probed, Godinho replied in negative.
Godinho said that Comptroller Auditor General (CAG)
had censured Parrikar for wasteful expenditure citing various
"CBI is taking time to investigate the case as they
have to go through all the details of it," he said.
