Pacheco, who has been granted bail in the Nadia Torrado death
case, Wednesday said he will raise the issue of "injustice" meted
out to him by the state police, in the ongoing session of the
Legislative Assembly.
"Certainly I will raise the issue of injustice meted out
to me by Goa police, in the State Legislative Assembly,"
Pacheco told reporters outside the Assembly complex here.
The ex-minister attended the Assembly session today for
the first time after his name figured in the death of his
28-year-old woman friend.
He said the bail granted to him by a local court on July
26 was a slap on the face of the police, and claimed that he
will come out clean in this case.
To a question about his role in the House, he said, "You
will have to wait and see what I do."
The 46-year-old NCP legislator has sought time from
Speaker Pratapsingh Rane to speak on the floor of the House.
Pacheco spent almost 15 days in police custody after he
was arrested in the Nadia death case.
He was held on July 8 by the Crime Branch immediately
after he was discharged from a district hospital where he was
admitted for hypertension, urinary tract infection and
jaundice.
Nadia died on May 30 after she allegedly consumed rat
poison on May 15. Her mother Sonia and Pacheco`s close aide
Lyndon Monteiro have been booked in the case.
