Assembly polls on March 3, former Congress legislator Jitendra
Deshprabhu, who left the party during the 2009 parliamentary
elections, has returned to the party fold.

Goa Pradesh Congress Committee President Subhash

as significant for the party`s prospects in the state.

Deshprabhu, a veteran congress leader had left the party
in 2009 parliamentary election to contest on NCP ticket.

He had lost to BJP`s Sripad Naik in North Goa

After spending more than 15 days in police custody, he
was granted bail.

Shirodkar said Deshprabhu`s alleged involvement in the
mining scam will not have any impact on the party.

"The matter is being investigated and let the law take
its own course," he said.
