Panaji: Goa Chief Minister Digamber Kamat
Monday said NCP and Congress high commands will decide who will
replace Fransisco Pacheco, the Tourism Minister who resigned
from the Cabinet and has been untraceable since then.
"The pre-poll alliance with NCP was decided in Delhi.
It`s for high command to take such decisions," he told
When asked who will take Pacheco`s place, he said, "I
will let you know at the right time. I will not have a
swearing-in ceremony during the night time. Everyone will be
informed well in advance."
Goa has a reputation of holding swearing-in ceremonies
during the eleventh hour.
The Goa government is celebrating its three years in
power and a booklet Golden Glow was released by Kamat to
commemorate the anniversary.
On Pacheco`s photograph missing from the list of
the Cabinet ministers mentioned in the book, he said "The book
was printed last night."
Pacheco had resigned on Saturday after he was quizzed
by Crime Branch for his alleged involvement in the death of
his 28-year-old friend Nadia Torrado.
The NCP legislator is, however, seen in a documentary
made by Information and Broadcasting Ministry to commemorate
completion of three years.
If one goes by Kamat`s message in the booklet, his
dissatisfaction over the performance of the ruling coalition
may be clearly seen.
"There is a feeling that much more could have been
accomplished had there been a totally favourable ambiance,"
the message reads.
