Panaji: The Congress party on Sunday termed
Goa`s Leader of Opposition Manohar Parrikar as "confused",
over his tirade against Congress regarding the illegal iron
ore mining.

"Parrikar has been making certain statements in the
assembly, and completely different statements outside," said
Jagmeet Singh Brar, Goa Desk in-charge of Congress.

"Parrikar is totally a confused person," he said, adding
that the BJP leader made a hue and cry over Public Accounts
Committee`s report on illegal mining in Goa before it was
tabled, but there was, in fact, nothing in the report.

Brar also said that BJP had been putting different
figures on the illegal mining in Goa. "Some leaders say it is
worth Rs 25,000 crore, some say Rs 4,000 crore."

BJP, the main opposition party in Goa, has started a
door-to-door campaign against Digambar Kamat-led government,
accusing it of plundering the mineral wealth.

Brar conceded that Congress`s image had taken some
beating due to the brouhaha over illegal mining and media
reports.

"But the actual situation would be clear only after
Justice MB Shah Commission gives final report," he said.
