Gurgaon: Ankur Chadha and Kunaal Bhatia
brought home a matching one-over par 73 to share the lead
after the opening round of the Albatross International Junior
Golf Championship here today.
Ainesh Ahluwalia was one stroke behind at third place
with two-over 74 in senior Category-A, while the trio of Arjun
Singh, Kushal Singh and Nikita Arjun (girl) were tied for
fourth place at six-over 78 at the Classic Golf Resort.
Honey Baisoya secured the sole lead with an opening round
of level par 72 in the senior Category-B, while Thailand's
Natthawat Sujajanakorn was a further stroke behind at second
place.
World Junior Golf champion Korntawach Julamool (Thailand)
and India's Manu Gandas were tied third with two-over 74.
In Category C, Piyush Sangwan aced hole number five to
garner sole lead with four-under par 68. Jai Raj Singh Sandhu
and Thailand's Benyapa Niphatsophon were five strokes behind
at joint second.
Thailand's Junior World champion Puwit Anupansoebsai
carded a flawless four-under 68 to top the leaderboard in
Category-D. Saptak Talwar, Karandeep Singh Kochar, Kittipong
Olankitkunchai and Kshitij Kaul were 10 strokes behind the
leader at joint second.
In the junior most category-E, played over nine holes,
Harshjeet Singh Sethi shot a seven-over 43 to grab the lead
with Tanmay trailing him by a solitary stroke at 44. USA's
Advait Chutke was at third place with 45.
