Gangjee makes a strong start on Nationwide Tour Utah (USA): A three-birdie run over four holes on the back-nine helped Indian golfer Rahil Gangjee card a three-under 68 and grab a share of the 26th spot after the first round of the Utah Championships on the Nationwide Tour.

Gangjee, playing his rookie year on the Nationwide Tour, had four birdies against one bogey despite some average putting. He needed 32 to get around through the round and was placed tied 26th.

Daniel Chopra, fighting to regain his PGA Tour card through the Nationwide route, carded a one-over 72 and was lying 102nd.

JJ Killeen, who has made 12 cuts in 13 starts on the 2011 season, made ample use of conditions to shoot a nine-under 69 at the Willow Creek Country Club. He had 10 birdies and a bogey for a nine-under 62, which tied the course record.

Scott Gardener and Joel Edwards were tied for second with a 64 each.
