Bhavnagar: Five children, including four
girls, died after a sand mound collapsed on them in a beach in
Mahuva taluka of the district on Sunday, police said.
The incident took place near Akhtaria village, when
the children, who were cousins by relation, were resting close
to a mound of sand created naturally on the beach, they said.
A portion of the mound collapsed, burying them, police
added.
The children were rushed to Mahuva government hospital,
where they were declared brought dead.
The deceased have been identified as Neeta Mackwana
(12), Mamta Mackwana (11), Shobhana Mackwana (7), Mahipat
Mackwana (8) and Sonal Bhil (10).
