Porbandar: Fifty seven Indian fishing boats released by Pakistan were handed over to the Gujarat fishermen here on Tuesday.
The fishing boats were detained by Pakistan for crossing the International Maritime Boundary Line (IMBL). Pakistan had released these boats on Sunday, which arrived at Porbandar harbour yesterday night.
A team of towing boats, fishermen and Gujarat Government officials had sailed from Porbandar to the designated IMBL site to receive the vessels.
These boats were towed by Pakistani trawlers to the designated location under the supervision of the Pakistan Maritime Security Agency.
The whole operation was supervised by Indian Coast Guard ships Rajratan and Vijit.
However, around 800 Indian fishing boats captured by Pakistan Maritime Security Agencies (PMSA) are still in the custody of Pakistan.
