Rajkot: A case has been registered against Kripalsinh Jadeja, who opened fire in air during the marriage procession of cricketer Ravindra Jadeja on 17th April.
As per ANI, Lodhika village police (Gujarat) have started its investigation and case has been registered under IPC 336 and Section 30 Arms Act.
"We had sought visuals and other videos related to the marriage from the Jadeja family and after examining them thoroughly we found that a person had opened fire in the air," said MN Rana of Lodhika tehsil police station.
"He is Kripalsinh Jadeja, a maternal relative of Ravindra Jadeja," Rana said, as per PTI.
"We have lodged an FIR against him under IPC section 336 (act endangering life or personal safety of others) and section 30 of the Arms Act," Rana said.
Police were investigating whether his arms license had expired, the police officer added.
No arrest has been made.
Jadeja had tied the nuptial knot with Riva Solanki in a ceremony in Rajkot where celebratory firing in the air had taken place.
This had prompted the police to launch an inquiry.
"We have initiated inquiry to find if the revolver used was licenced or not. We will decide on taking action after investigation," Rajkot (Rural) Superintendent of Police Antrip Sood had said then, as per PTI.
