Ahmedabad: Angry BJP workers from various
wards of the Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation (AMC) today
stormed the party`s office in Khanpur, protesting to get
tickets for the corporation elections on October 10.

They also broke the glass on the front door of the party
office and shouted slogans against the BJP leaders.

The workers from Asarwa, Ghatlodia, Krishnanagar, Naroda,
Bhaipura and other wards complained that the party was
considering giving tickets to those persons whom people in the
respective areas didn`t know.

Some workers also threatened to quit the party and join
the Mahagujarat Janta Party (MJP) headed by Gordhan Zadafia,
who had floated the party after parting ways with theBJP. He
was the minister of state for home during 2002 riots and his
role is under investigation.

A similar kind of dissent was seen in Congress workers
from the Jamalpur ward.

They alleged that they have been working for over two
decades but party had decided to give tickets for corporation
elections to lesser known people.

AMC elections are scheduled for October 10.
