Vadodra: Ahead of the Lok Sabha bypolls in Vadodara, pamphlets on 'Love Jihad' warning young girls not to fall in the trap laid by young men of other community to lure them are being discretely distributed in the area.
The circulation of these pamphlets has alarmed police which is now investigating the source of these leaflets.
Written in Gujarati, the pamphlets are attributed to the Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) and warn Hindu girls about the “fate” that awaits them if they become a victim of it, as per news reports.
It reportedly states, “Do you want to become a prostitute? No. Then Read, Think and Discuss.”
It goes on to state that Muslim guys are trained to lure Hindu women into marriage and states statistics about how such women go on to live as “second, third or fourth wives”, according to reports.
VHP has refused to comment on the pamphlets.
Vadodara is the constituency from which Prime Minister Narendra Modi was elected to the Parliament.
Polls are being held in the constituency after Modi retained Uttar Pradesh's Varanasi as his constituency.
