Vadodara: Five lions of Gir Sanctuary were
seen roaming on the road leading to Bhuva village in Amreli
district here.

The lions, who seemed to be enjoying rains, did not hurt
or attack passersby on the road, which passes through the
forests.

"After coming out from the forest, these lions were on
their way to a nearby Shetrunji river to quench their thirst
yesterday afternoon," range forest officer of the area
Chandrakant Dandhiya said today.

Wild life photographer Dilip Jiruka, who encashed the
opportunity by clicking several photographs of lions, said,
"these lions were on their way to river and they had been
enjoying rain on that day which lashed the area."

They were roaming freely on the road and passersby did
not panic with their presence, he said.

"There were five lions including a lioness," the
photographer said.
