Ahmedabad: Four persons were killed and five injured when a speeding truck crashed into a stationary state transport bus in Sanand taluka of the district here on Friday, police said.
The incident took place near Virochanagar village on the Sanand-Viramgam road, about 35 km from here, they said. According to police, when a state transport bus with a flat tyre was parked on side of the road and its passengers standing outside, a speeding truck carrying cargo container crashed into the bus from rear.
Two persons died on the spot when the bus was dragged over 200 feet from the place where it was parked because of the impact of the collision, police said. Two others succumbed to injuries on way to the hospital, while five others are under going treatment, they added.
A case has been registered against the truck driver who is absconding and further investigation in the matter was on, police said.
