Gujarat Assembly witnessed ruckus after a Cong MLA levelled allegations against Modi govt over low % of minority community youth in state jobs.
Gandhinagar: Gujarat Assembly on Monday witnessed
ruckus after a Congress MLA levelled allegations against
Narendra Modi government over low percentage of minority
community youth in state jobs.
Farooq Sheikh, who represents Kalupur constituency, had
sought a reply during question hour on the exact number of
youth from the minority community who have secured jobs after
registering with the state employment bureau.
In his reply, Labour and Employment Minister Vaju Vala
said 815 out of 5393 youth who had registered themselves in
Ahmedabad have been recruited.
Speaker Ganpat Vasava ordered Sheikh`s remark that the
Modi government was "against the minority community" be
expunged from the records but the defiant MLA repeated kept
repeating his words.
This prompted the members from opposition and treasury
benches to raise slogans.
Parliamentary Affairs Minister Dilip Sanghani also raised
a point of order objecting to the statements of Sheikh, saying
he had insulted the Speaker by repeating the remarks even
though they were deleted from the records.
