Indore: Reacting to the ongoing 'sadbhavana' fast of Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi, senior Congress leader Digvijay Singh on Sunday said here that he was glad that the BJP leader had "now embraced the ideology of Mahatma Gandhi, moving away from the ideology of RSS's Guru Golwalkar."

Late MS Golwalkar was a former chief of RSS.

Singh also dismissed the US Congressional report which predicts that Modi could be a strong contender for Prime Minister's post, saying that there were numerous think tanks in that country, and lobbyists sometimes paid to obtain favourable reports.

On social activist Anna Hazare's statement that Singh should be sent to a mental asylum, the Congress general secretary said that he was willing to go to a hospital with Hazare, and get himself tested. "If my mental condition is found to be bad, I will get admitted to hospital."

Hazare had made the statement following Singh's allegation that RSS was involved in Hazare's anti-corruption agitation.

The Congress general secretary said that it was very strange that neither Hazare nor the BJP nor RSS responded to the allegation itself.

Saying that he still respected Hazare, Singh alleged that he was "surrounded by RSS workers".
