Guj among top three states for RIDF utilisation

Ahmedabad: Gujarat ranks among the top
three states for utilising Rural Infrastructure Development
Fund (RIDF) assistance of Rs 10,297 crore provided so far by
NABARD, a top official said on Wednesday.

"Off the total RIDF assistance of Rs 10,297 crore to
the Government of Gujarat, 28 per cent has been utilised by
Gujarat Water Supply and Sewage Board and 24 per cent by Roads
and Building department," CGM NABARD H R Dave said.

"The remaining amount has been utilised by Health and
Family Welfare Department, Women and Child Development and
Agriculture and Cooperation department," he said.

The financial support has been extended for major
infrastructure projects of the state in irrigation like
Narmada canal, Saurasthra canal and its distribution network
and check dams.
