Anand: Gujarat Congress`s `Sardar
Sandesh Yatra` came to a close here on Friday, with the party
targeting senior BJP leader LK Advani and Gujarat Chief
Minister Narendra Modi.
In the run-up to the state elections, the party had taken
out rallies from six different places in the state which
culminated here today.
Targeting Advani and Modi, the state Congress in-charge
Mohan Prakash said, "They prefer to call them `bade and chote
sardar` (that they are followers of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel).
But they do not follow the principles of Sardar Patel."
"Recently, Advaniji took out a yatra against corruption.
After roaming through all over India, he could only find one
person to sit in his yatra bus and that was tainted UP
minister Babulal Kushwaha. It seems that the yatra was taken
out to enroll corrupt and outlaw elements in BJP," Prakash
Lashing out at Modi, Congress campaign committee chairman
Shankarsinh Vaghela said then Prime Minister Atal Bihari
Vajpayee had advised the Chief Minister to follow Raj Dharma
in the wake of 2002 riots.
"Now, for what reason you are conducting Sadbhavna
fast?," Vaghela asked.
