Guj govt to modernise Fatehgunj post office

Vadodara: As many as Rs 47 lakh will be spent on modernization and renovation of the post office building located in the Fatehgunj area of the city, said Arvind kumar Joshi, post master general, Vadodara circle.

The work will be over within next four months, he told
PTI after a ceremony of dedication of philatelic hall to the
people of Vadodara here today.

This will provide more space for the customers for
getting efficient services from the post office counters
located in this office.

Fatehgunj post office serves large segment in the area
due to location of university office, hostels buildings,
schools, and colleges, Joshi said.

C P Labana, Superintendent of Fatehgunj Post Office said
seven more newpost offices will be opened in Vadodara and its
surrounding areas within a month. These post offices are being
opened in Panchvati, Por, Vadu, Dashrath, Manjusar, GIDC area,
Jambuva and New VIP Road in and around the city .

With these opening of post offices, the total number of
post offices in the city will go up to 88, said Labana.
According to Joshi, east division Vadodara circle of
post office caters to a population of 22.40 lakhs through 344
post offices located in Vadodara, Dabhoi, Sankheda,
Pavijetpur, Chhota Udepur, Naswadi, Tilakwada, Sinor, Kawant
and Waghodiya.
