Federer, Murray back gay tennis players

Tennis stars Roger Federer and Andy Murray have backed gay players as they believe tennis has moved beyond the discriminatory levels.

London: Tennis stars Roger Federer and Andy Murray have backed gay players as they believe tennis has moved beyond the discriminatory levels.
The move comes after basketball veteran Jason Collins has revealed that he is gay, becoming the first active professional player in US to declare his homosexuality. Federer opined that such revelations in tennis will not cause any problems in the games, though he has not heard of any gay tennis players so far. Murray joined Federer in supporting gay tennis players during the professional tour who decide to go public, adding that tennis players deal well with the social stigma in such a situation. ANI
