Gujarat bypolls: Congress announces candidates for five Assembly seats

Gujarat Congress on Monday announced the names of five candidates for the by-elections to nine Assembly seats in the state to held on September 13.

Ahmedabad: Gujarat Congress on Monday announced the names of five candidates for the by-elections to nine Assembly seats in the state to held on September 13.

Jatin Kella would contest the Maninagar seat vacated by Narendra Modi after he became the Prime Minister.
Four other candidates are Dilip Saradva for Tankara, Meraman Goriya for Jam Khambhalia, Kanti Parmar for Anand and Chhatrasinh Meda for Limkheda Assembly seat.

The bypoll will also be conducted for one Lok Sabha seat on the same day.
"In the coming days, our party will declare the candidates for one Lok Sabha seat of Vadodara and four Assembly seats of Matar, Mangrol, Talaja and Deesa," state Congress spokesperson Manish Doshi said.
