Gandhinagar: Gujarat Chief Minister Anandi Patel on Saturday paid a surprise visit to a government-run school here.
The Chief Minister visited Sardar Patel Vidya Mandir in the sector-7 this morning and took a stock of its functioning.
She visited the ongoing classes, the computer lab and later held a meeting with the school staff.
"Results of the standard 9th and 10th will not be up to the mark until there is improvement in primary education. Last year results of class twelfth (of the school) were just 28 per cent. Results should improve," Patel said, talking to reporters.
"Therefore I have asked the DEOs (district education officers) and DPOs (district primary education officers) to meet me with the details of students and teachers in each and every class in Gandhinagar district. We will see where is a shortage of teachers and where there are surplus teachers. We will deploy them accordingly," Patel added.
