Ahmedabad: The Institute of Chartered
Financial Analysts of India (ICFAI) would be setting up a
University in Gujarat by 2011, its officials said here on Wednesday.

"The ICFAI has already received a Letter of Intent
(LoI) from the Gujarat government to establish a university in
the state," ICFAI Business School (IBS) Director, Bala
Bhaskaran told media persons here.

He said that by second half of 2010 they are likely to
begin work on the new campus, and by 2011 the university would
be in place.

"We have identified a location in the Matar taluka of
Kheda district as a probable location to house the ICFAI
University. We are at present in the process of acquiring land
in that area," Bhaskaran said, while announcing admissions to
IBS`s two year post-graduate programme in management (PGPM).

Bhaskaran said that they have already acquired over
20 acres of land in the Kheda district.

"We have target of acquiring 200 acres of land for the
university campus. But once we have acquired over 50 acres we
would approach the state government to pass necessary
legislation for incorporation of the university," he said.
