Ahmedabad: The Met department on Saturday warned
the fishermen in Gujarat not to venture into the sea due to
strong monsoon conditions in the state.

"We have advised the state fishermen not to venture into
the sea for the next 24 hours as the sea will be very rough,
accompanied with strong winds," Indian Meteorological
Department director Kamaljit Ray said.

"Due to strong monsoon conditions and build up of a low
pressure area over Kutch, squally weather will prevail along
Gujarat coast in the next 24 hours," Ray said.

The department has also forecast moderate to rather heavy
rains or thunderstorms in all districts of Suarathra region
and Kutch.

Meanwhile, several trees were uprooted due to strong
winds in Kutch today.

"Close to 125 trees were uprooted due to strong winds
blowing in three tehsils of Kutch namely Nakhatrana, Mandvi
and district headquarter Bhuj," officials said.
