Law will take its own course, says RSS chief on MPPEB scam

RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat today said that law would take its own course in the multi-crore MPPEB scam that has rocked Madhya Pradesh.

Vadodara: RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat today said that law would take its own course in the multi-crore MPPEB scam that has rocked Madhya Pradesh.

"Law will take its own course (in Madhya Pradesh Professional Examination Board scam)...I have nothing else to say," Bhagwat told reporters at the Laxmivilas Palace here this evening.

The MPPEB scam has reportedly knocked at the RSS doors as well. As per reports, names of several past and present RSS functionaries have cropped up in the case.

However, when asked about it, Bhagwat refused to comment.

He said he has come to the palace to meet Samarjeetsinh Gaekwad, former Maharaja of the erstwhile princely state of Baroda and that it is just a courtesy call as Gaekwad had visited Nagpur to meet me some time back," he said.

"The purpose of my visit to the city it to attend a religious programme organised at Garudeshwar about 80 kms from Vadodara on Saturday," he said.

The MPPEB has been in the news for alleged corruption in conducting examinations for recruitment to various state government jobs.

The MPPEB scam related to the Pre-Medical Test and recruitment to various government services, including teachers, constables and food inspectors has been taking place in the state since the last few years, until the matter was exposed after a few impersonators were arrested in Indore.

As per reports recent audit by the Madhya Pradesh Local Fund Audit office for 2007-08 found alleged financial and administrative irregularities, including unauthorised disposal of application forms, worth crores of rupees by the MPPEB.
