One Somalian dies another`s condition critical

Rajkot: One of the seven foreign nationals from Somalia, who were found unconscious near Vereval coast yesterday, died during treatment while the condition of another is stated to be critical.

The seven, who claimed to be fishermen, were admitted to Veraval hospital, Coast Guard sources said, adding the two were shifted to a Junagadh hospital after their condition deteriorated further.

The two have been identified as Abdul Rehman (26) and Abdul Razzaq (40). Razzaq died early this morning while Rehman is battling for life, they said.

According to primary investigation, the seven were from Somaliya and had gone into sea for fishing.

They were attacked by pirates who robbed them and damaged their boats on May 24, but the seven managed to get another boat and reached Veraval coast yesterday, sources said.

The physical condition of the seven was weak and had to be admitted to a local hospital, they said.

The remaining have been identified as Mohammad Abdi (40), Mahadi Abdul Razzaq (26), Mohmmad Abdi (20), Abdul Karim (18) and Sharman K (21), they added.
