Rain-related death toll rises to 11 in Gujarat

Rain-related deaths in Vadodara and Bharuch districts of Gujarat have climbed to 11, with three more persons getting killed in wall collapse incidents, police said on Tuesday.

Vadodara: Rain-related deaths in Vadodara and
Bharuch districts of Gujarat have climbed to 11, with three
more persons getting killed in wall collapse incidents, police
said on Tuesday.
Two persons were killed due to wall collapse at Chavaj
village in Bharuch yesterday and one in Ankaleshwar after
heavy rains accompanied with storm hit the districts, they
said.

The deceased have been identified as Fatma Changa (55),
her son Idrish (25) and Anvar Hussain from Ankleshwar, police
said.

Of the 11, seven died due to wall collapse and four
persons were killed due to lightening.

Eight of the victims were from Vadodara and remaining
three were from Bharuch district.

Those who died of lightening were identified as Jangla
Rathwa (42), Gangubhai Rathwa (32), both from Dungargam
village, Mira Mega (22) from Ambav village and Fogat Vasava
(60) from Sarupur Timbi village.
While remaining four who died due to wall collapse
incidents in Vadodara were identified as Sakuli Dangi,
Bhavika Dangi, Vanita Muniya (all from Kamlapur village) and
Lalu Rathwa, a young boy of Hamirpura village, police added.
